This fast-paced International commodity trading business is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its team on a Permanent basis. The business offers strong career opportunities. Areas of responsibility:

• Payments / Receipts processing
• Invoice Processing (overheads)
• FX contract processing
• Credit control
• Bank reconciliation

Essential Function:

• Posting ledger entries to accounting system
• Coding and posting approved supplier invoices to accounting system
• Entering bank payments and receipts on bank systems and accounting system
• Daily reconciliation of bank accounts
• Reconcile finance accounts and direct debits
• Posting and recording of FX contracts
• Analysis and posting of expenses
• General assistance to Financial Controller as required

Requirements:

• Either trainee accountant, AAT PQ or ACCA/ACA/CIMA student
• Good working knowledge of Excel
• Understanding of double entry principals.
• Experience of using Sage useful but not essential
