Partnered with an leading sports agency based in Central London, I am searching for a Financial Controller on a full time permanent basis with only 3 days per week in the office.
Supporting the Chief Financial Officer, you will have the opportunity to help achieve and maintain high-performance standards through team management as well as budgeting and forecasting, and effective financial governance.
Key responsibilities include:
Take ownership of the general ledger and monthly close processes, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements in line with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Lead the accounting team, providing mentorship, coaching, supervision, and daily support as needed.
Approve daily accounting entries across sales and purchase ledgers, as well as cash transactions, and oversee the completion of the month-end process by preparing and reviewing journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
Monitor and review all financial schedules, ledgers, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Own the preparation of monthly management reports for the Chief Financial Officer, ensuring timely submission and including an analysis of monthly fluctuations in operating results.
Provide cash flow forecasts and assist in cash flow management, including overseeing bank reconciliations and managing debtor controls.
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
Approve client and office bank payments within established thresholds.
