Job description

Our client, a market leading investment platform, has an opening for an integral member of the team. They are looking for a Qualified Management Accountant

Key responsibilities as Management Accountant include:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepararation of monthly management accounts, including Accruals, Prepayments and Fixed Assets Register.
    • Analysis of financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost improvement.
    • Expertise in financial commentary and variance analysis to highlight key financial performance indicators.
    • Reconcile Balance sheet accounts and ensure there no discrepancies in the reports.
    • Key involvement in the preparation of annual year-end audits.
  2. Cost Control & Efficiency:
    • Analyse costs and recommend areas for cost reduction or efficiency improvements.
    • Work with department heads to monitor departmental budgets and control costs.
    • Ensure internal controls and accounting procedures are adhered to for accurate financial reporting.
  3. Management Support:
    • Provide financial insights to senior management for strategic decision-making and business planning.
    • Work closely with other departments to interpret financial data, enabling better decision-making.
  4. Systems & Process Improvement:
    • Assist in the development of financial systems and processes.
    • Identify and implement improvements to existing processes for more efficient financial management.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • ACA qualified or qualified ACCA/CIMA with financial services industry experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts, with the ability to interpret and analyse financial data.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
