Payments Processing Analyst - FX/Payments Firm

Position: Payments Processing Analyst
Location: London
Employment Type: Full-Time

On behalf of our client, a leading FX/Payments firm, we are seeking a motivated Payments Processing Analyst to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in processing global transactions for a growing financial institution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing:

    • Accurately process domestic and international payments across multiple currencies.
    • Ensure timely execution of FX trades and associated payment instructions.
    • Monitor payment queues and resolve processing issues in a timely manner.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting:

    • Reconcile payment systems with bank accounts and transaction logs.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring data integrity across systems.
    • Generate and review payment reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Liaise with clients, counterparties, and internal teams to resolve payment-related queries.
    • Coordinate with banking partners to address issues such as payment failures or delays.
  • Compliance and Risk:

    • Ensure all payments comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and AML/KYC standards.
    • Identify and escalate potential fraud or operational risks promptly.
  • Process Optimization:

    • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and support system enhancement initiatives.
    • Contribute to the development of best practices for payment operations.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Education:

    • Degree or diploma in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • 3+ Years in payment processing, FX operations, or a similar role.
    • Knowledge of SWIFT, SEPA, CHAPS, and other global payment systems is essential.
  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in payment processing platforms and MS Excel; knowledge of SQL or VBA is a plus.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder interactions.
  • Attributes:

    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
