Job description
Our Client a design & build company seeks a permanent Financial Controller to join their team based in London. This is a newly created role reporting into the Managing Director and would suit a candidate who is qualified by experience who is able to work in a standalone role in a progressive, fast-paced environment. This Organisation has forged a burgeoning reputation for creating stunning, one-off workspaces for tech, media and creative companies.
The Financial Controller will manage all aspects of the company's bookkeeping and accounting. The ideal candidate will be a confident and self-motivated individual, experience in the construction sector would be beneficial.
Duties of the Financial Controller include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparing financial statements
- Budget preparation and monitoring
- Project finances and forecasting
- Statutory filing
- Cash flow management
- Bank reconciliation
- All tax including CIS
- Credit card and expenses management
- Purchase ledger including banking
- Sales ledger
- Liaison with and support from external accountants
- Ad-hoc projects
Requirements of the Financial Controller include:
- Experience in the construction sector or a project business beneficial
- Experience in Xero, ProCore and Smartsheet an advantage
- High level of MS Excel knowledge and skill
- Confident in all aspects of bookkeeping
- Ability to understand project WIP (Work-in-Progress)
- Ability to produce monthly management account journals and maintain balance sheet schedules
- Experience in payroll an advantage but not critical
- Strong attention to details, confident and self-motivated
- Customer facing communication skills
- Loyalty
- Highly organised and able to multi-task
